Tanja works on a piece commissioned over the internet to fix a victorian chair
One of the mirrors she made to try and sell at crafts fairs but found guessing what would sell frustrating
I photographed Tatjana Jovanovic-Grove, a Serbian immigrant who now lives near Winston Salem, NC for a story about people who have given up looking for jobs in this economy after many fruitless attempts. She has a masters in biology but was still unable to find any work.
Tanja now spends her days making crafts to sell on the internet marketplace Etsy. She makes little money, but finds the work creatively fufilling
A quote
