Got a call from new client The Wall Street Journal several days ago to photograph Bruce Ladd, the founder and president of the Emil VerbanĀ Society, a group of political movers and shakers, think Donald Rumsfeld, Ronald Reagan and Hillary Clinton, who also happen to be major Chicago Cubs fans. Obama, being a White Sox man was a reluctant honoree into the Society, hence the nature of the article.
Mr. Ladd has worked for Donald Rumsfeld and Richard Nixon in the past and now spends his time outside Chapel Hill, NC writing books and keeping track of the Society and his enormous collection of Cubs paraphernalia. A true fan.
As he did not feature heavily in the resulting story, the photos were bumped for one of Obama in White Sox garb, but so it goes. A fun morning full of political gossip and baseball loving.
