On Assignment: Julia Gaffield for Liberation

Got an email from Liberation, the French newspaper, a few weeks ago to make a portrait of Duke University graduate student Julia Gaffield, who discovered the original printed version of Haiti’s Declaration of Independence in the National Archives in London in February. It was a fun shoot, around the Duke campus and the photo ran in the paper with a story about the discovery earlier this week.

The photo above was my favorite and the one below ran in the paper
