So I got the call to photograph Vanessa Woods for the Science section of the New York Times. She recently published a book on her research on bonobos in the Congo that she conducted with her husband, Brain Hare.
Since heading to the Congo was out of the question, we elected for the faux jungle of some tropical greenhouses on the Duke University campus and a pretty cool primate painting as the backdrop.
They were a pleasure to work with and not what I had expected for scientists, from past experiences, not to generalize scientists or anything, fun and funny, we had a good time.
