Good Luck Joe

When I was in school I knew what I wanted to do, but there were few  teachers there who had any insight or useful advice as to how to get there, it being a “fine art” school.

Then came TD.

He mentored, pushed, advised, pushed and pushed me some more to do important work, with an emphasis on personal vision.

When I got married, he officiated the ceremony, complete in Civil War era clothing as he had just returned from working on his book on Civil War reenactors.

He also gave us Good Luck Joe as a present. Neither TD nor me are particularly religious, but he had rubbed Joe’s head everyday when leaving the house for luck and passed it on to Alicia and I.

Joe now sits on my porch, going balder by the day.
