Medical School Applications for the NYT

nn

I spent the day in Roanoke, VA back in March on the VA Tech campus observing their application process for medical school students. Basically, there are several rooms with different “scenarios” written on the door. Each student has a couple of minutes to take notes and then goes through an 8 minute interview in the room where their ability to navigate ethical and moral questions are judged. They also go through a more standard 18 minute interview at the end of the race through the scenarios. Crazy. Glad I never wanted to be a doctor.

They all got a tour of Roanoke when it was all over. Read the story here
